RONALD THOMPSON

Born in San Antonio, Texas on August 2, 1988. Presently homeschooled in the 10th grade. Started piano lessons in 1996 at the age of 8 with Dr. Anya Grokhovski.

At the age of 11, he was chosen from nationwide search for the National Public Radio show "From The Top", public radio’s national showcase of young classical musicians.

In April 2001, he was successful in his peformance in the second round of the Young Virtuosos’ Festival in Boston, MA and was selected out of 53 talented young musicians to participate in the final gala concert "YOUNG VIRTUOSOS’ at the Weil Recital Hall, Carnegie Hall, NY in May 2001.

He studied with Dr Anya Grokhovski for 8 years and in those years he had received numerous awards:
1998. First place – Junior Tuesday Musical Club, SA,TX
     1999 First place – McClellan Young Pianist       Competition. Waco, TX

     2000 First Place – McClellan Young Pianist Competition,
             Waco, TX
2000. First place – Janice Hodges Contemporary Piano Competition, SA,TX.

     2000 Second place – Sonata/Sonatina International Competition,
Corpus Christi, TX
     2001 Finalist – Young Virtuouso’s International Competition, Boston,MA
2001. Second place – Baylor/Waco Piano Competition – Solo Division
2002. Second place – Baylor/Waco Piano Competition – Concerto Division
     2002 First place – Junior Tuesday Music Club – Junior Division, SA,TX
     2003 Top Five Finalist – Lennox Young Artist Competition, Piano Concerto

At present, Ronald is studying with Anton Nel, a concert pianist and faculty at University of Texas in Austin.
Eric Duan

Eric is 9 years old; he is in 4-grade student in Kay Stone School in San Antonio. He has been studied with Anya Grokhovski  for 3 years and he made an incredible progress. He was chosen to perform in Juges choice recital after achievement auditions in the spring of last year; he was chosen to perform in a Child Prodigy show sponsored by Musical Bridges in the spring of 2005.He was  playing role of Mozart (in Mozart’s costume) for educational concert series designed for the schools of San Antonio.  In 2004 he took the first prize at the Junior Tuesday Musical Club Competition. As a winner of International Sonatina and Sonata Competition in Corpus Christy he has performed in Carnegie Hall.

Eric is also a very accomplished violin player.
Vanessa Freckmann

A 10th grader at the NorthEast School of the Arts. She has been playing piano for 9 years and is studying with Dr. Anya Grokhovski.  Vanessa performed at New York’s Carnage Hall as a finalist in the Sonatina and Sonata Youth Competition sponsored by the Fryderyk Chopin Society. She is portraying Mozart in Musical Bridges Around the World’s all-Mozart season. Vanessa plays the French horn in the NESA orchestra. She speaks fluent German and is assistant director of the Beethoven Kinderchor (German children’s choir).  She plans to major in Mathematics after high school.
Yvonne Freckmann

17, is an 11th grader at the NorthEast School of the Arts (NESA). She studies with Dr. Anya Grokhovski and has played piano for 9 years. Yvonne performed at Carnegie Hall in New York City, as a winner of the Fryderik Chopin Society’s Sonatina and Sonata Youth Competition.  Yvonne plays clarinet and accordion, speaks German fluently, and is the director of the Beethoven Kinderchor of San Antonio, a German children’s choir. She has accompanied for her local church since age 13.Yvonne is playing the role of Mozart's sister (Nannerl) in Musical Bridges educational series "Kids to Concerts".
